The reader and writer in the systems RFID is a rectrasmitter that I cross
its spar produces a magnetic field to RF, the transponder interested by the
magnetic field sends the contained data in its memory modulating the signal
RF.
We can divide in Readers and Writers with integrated spar usually used for
court distances and Readers and Writers with external spar for long
distances.
